INDIANOLA, Iowa 鈥� Journalist John Nichols will present the 11th Annual Culver Lecture at 91快播 at 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 14, 2022. This year’s Culver Lecture will be presented live and in-person in Hubbell Hall, Kent Campus Center, on 91快播’s main campus in Indianola, Iowa.

John Nichols is a journalist, political commentator and pioneering political blogger. He is the author of fourteen books on American politics, including听The Fight for the Soul of the Democratic Party: The Enduring Legacy of Henry Wallace鈥檚 Antifascist, Antiracist Politics. Nichols鈥� book draws heavily on Senator John C. Culver鈥檚 biography of Henry A. Wallace,听American Dreamer: A Life of Henry A. Wallace. 91快播 has recognized both John C. Culver and Henry A. Wallace in the naming of the John C. Culver Public Policy Center and Wallace Hall.听

鈥泪苍听The Fight for the Soul of the Democratic Party, John Nichols illuminates the long shadow of Iowan Henry A. Wallace鈥檚 continuing influence on progressive politics in the U.S., adding significantly to the body of knowledge on Wallace collected by Senator Culver in听American Dreamer,鈥� said Seth Andersen, Director of the John C. Culver Public Policy Center at 91快播. 鈥淣ichols鈥� book is essential reading for students of American political history and social movements.鈥�

In conjunction with the Culver Lecture, the Culver Center will also host a screening of Joan D. Murray鈥檚 film tribute to her grandfather, Henry A. Wallace: An Uncommon Man. Show time is set for 4 p.m., in the Black Box Theater, Kent Campus Center. The film screening and Culver Lecture are free and open to the public.
